Light Within Collective
Light Within Collective exists for the moments that are hard to name.
Not the dramatic breaking points — but the quieter ones. The days when you are functioning but not quite present. The seasons when healing feels more like endurance than progress. The times when you need something steady, and don't have the words to ask for it.
The books, reflection decks, Stay app, and writing gathered here are trauma-informed tools designed around one principle: that you should not have to be ready, or certain, or anywhere other than exactly where you are to begin. Each one is built to meet you where you actually are — gently, honestly, without asking you to perform.
This is a space for the long, ordinary work of returning to yourself.
About Simone
Simone Bowyer is a writer, recovery advocate, and founder of Light Within Collective.
She knows what it is to carry more than one thing at once — to be in recovery and still unravelling, to be showing up fully and still not improving, to be surviving while not yet knowing how to live. Her debut memoir Chasing Light and second memoir Holding Light were written in the middle of that — not from the other side of it, but from inside it, with honesty rather than answers.
For a long time, she looked for something that could meet her there — in the middle, in the unresolved, in the not-yet-okay. She couldn't find it.
Light Within Collective grew from that gap: the absence of resources that asked nothing of a person — no performance, no readiness, no particular stage of healing required. Just: arrive as you are.
She lives in Cape Town. She is still writing. She is still staying.
